Quantitative Market Research Assistant (CA0902)
DESCRIPTION:
- Participate in early-stage project meetings with clients to collect, condense, and summarize key research objectives
- Conduct analysis of secondary data sources from government and private information sources relevant to the development of research projects
- Assist with the development and programming of online surveys using specialized software programs
- Test the functionality of online surveys and update programming requirements when needed
- Assist in the collection of cross-country respondent data and conduct statistical analysis of survey research results
- Generate charts and reports under guidance of Research Analyst and/or Quantitative Market Research Director
- Analyze survey respondent data files using a variety of software data applications
- Work closely with colleagues on research projects to fulfill other ad hoc research activities
- Report to Research Analyst and/or Quantitative Market Research Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3rd year student, working towards a BA (or an individual with a BA) in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Sociology, Geography or BCOM in Marketing, MIS, Management
- 1 year related experience in marketing and / or market research a strong plus
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Power Point a must-have
- Knowledge of MS Access/SQL and quantitative research software application (SAS, SPSS, Systat, CATI) a bonus
- Experience with HTML programming and authoring (MS Front Page, Cold Fusion) an asset
- Possess strong quantitative and problem solving skills, organizational ability, excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
- Ability to be proactive, apply judgment, exercise initiative and work in a fast paced environment
- Multi-lingual candidate preferred
- Availability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Out-of-town travel not expected to exceed 10%
